This is a bit more difficult for me to answer than yesterday's question. Do relationships that aren't sexual but I want them to be count? What about relationships where one of the characters wants it to be sexual but the other does not? I'm going to say they all count, and pick my favorite three...

(In no particular order)

Lt. Eve Dallas and her partner Det. Peabody in JD Robb's In Death series. The two compliment each other well. It's fun to read the banter between them, and they make a great team, each bringing out the best in the other. Dallas guides Peabody in all things cop, giving her both knowledge and confidence, and Peabody teaches Dallas about friendship and trust. It works very well together.

Harry Dresden and Karrin Murphy in Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files series. As with Dallas and Peabody, the pair works well together. They're always there for each other with a deep level of trust. And, of course, the banter keeps me coming back for more. I'd REALLY like to see these two add romantic relationship to the mix.

Ivy Tamwood and Rachel Morgan in Kim Harrison's The Hollows series. This is the series I'm currently reading and the ever changing relationship between the living vampire (Ivy) and earth witch (Rachel) is one of the things that makes the series so worthwhile. They are constantly trying to figure things out between them, with the added bonus/complication of a blood balance/blood lust. It definitely makes things interesting.
